Real Nappies

Real Nappies are the name of the game! I speak from experience that with my first I used all real nappies and found it easy-going and only one little nappy rash moment when we were out walking and my daughter was in her nappy longer than usual. With my second there's a Dad around who likes to be hands on and has insisted on throw away style nappies. I have tried to source eco-friendly versions of this and there are many available! However the RUBBISH!!!! created is immense and as we personally have nowhere to burn these paper nappies the bin is always overflowing! I have tried to stay as safe to my own beliefs as possible by making sure my newest daughter is always in a washable at night and any other time we have a long journey ahead as they are much more hard wearing for travel. The wide choice in washable nappies out there is a wonderful evolution in nappy technology!!! I have personally opted for the pocket style nappy with a fleece liner and this keeps her warm and dry! These nappies are highly absorbent and keep the damp away from the skin! It's all good in nappyland!

The best site I have found for nappy technology is Natural Nursery  and the Baba Boo range are easy and fun to look at! Walking around in her Tarzanna or her Moo Power nap nap is wonderful!!!
Happy Nappyland to you all!

This is the one I described with little hedgehogs!!
Top notch nappy technology!!
Stays dry keeps 'em clean, Wash like a dream!!

Veggie Lovelies...

The World of a veggie woman who likes to cook can be as exciting as any other!
There are many different ways to experiment with veggie cooking and change the old to the new.

A classic recipe of mine is Shepherdess Pie which is like the ole traditional number only you use lentils for the mix of veggie lovelies and if you have some veggie scheesse about you can crumble some on top and sprinkle with sesame seeds for a beautiful topping!

Spaghettie is a good one all you need is a few ideas of your own favourite flavours to reach a happy day's dinner!
Here are a few ideas of my own:
1) Broccilli sauce made from a creamy roux like mixture sauce with blended cooked broccili to make a sauce. A few herbs such as thyme and oregano help.
2) A more tradional Napoli with fresh tomatoes and garlic can be fun!
3) Lentils especially I find the brown work well, with tomato and herbs can help the ole traditional dish to be a good new veggie wonder.
4) Primavera comes from the quick cooking of fresh green veg with garlic and oil.
5) A creamy mushroom sauce is a good one when flavoured with garlic and herbs.

Scheese is a natural food made from melted margarine, marmite (everyone's mate!), mustard and soya flour mixed together in a pan and chilled in the fridge.
Can be used in all kinds of recipes as written above!

My secret recipe for Scheese came from a Magical Cookbook I came across and is as follows:

Equal amounts of melted vege margarine and soya flour
Marmite
Mustard

Melt the marg gently and mix in flavourings to taste. It is at this point in the recipe you can add garlic and herbs or cumin or some other nice spice or herb.
Once mingled nicely add the flour and mix til thick.
Turn out into a dish that you can put in the fridge and chill til hard.
Can be crumbled or sliced into any dish requiring such a flavour!
Happy Scheesing!

It is my personal belief that any dish can be made into a veggie lovelie with a bit of magic!!
Happy Daze!
