Health and Beauty Tips for the Natural People

Well, what's the thing you most need on a night out, you guessed it the lippy!! Well, double triple gloss tastic is the pure solid coconut oil in a little jar. Perfect for your handbag or rucksack pocket and doubles up as mascara and eyebrow sealer. In fact, if I tell the truth it's the best thing I find for EVERYTHING under the sun!!

1) LIP GLOSS!!!
2) smooth the oil on your lashes comb it through with a wand from your brush collection, hey presto good lashes!
3) Smooth all over the eye and brow. Seals the skin, leave for half an hour to sink in and you have the perfect base for eye makeup. Rids all bags under your eyes, you'll feel wide awake and start with a facial wash, follow by a cool toning watery splash and finish with the coconut smooth skin as a moisturise!! Cleanse, Tone and Moisturise!!
4) Nitty bugs!! Those terrible alien things that appear from nowhere biting at your poor head. Try tweezing coconut oil through with your hands adding a drop or two of tea tree essential oil in your hands. After you have left this a good half an hour rinse thoroughly with hot water over the bath and watch them all rinse away forever. Works wet or dry. For children keep to plenty of coconut oil and just the one drop of essential oil. With nut allergies, you could try a different natural oil of some kind with the one drop of tea tree.
5) Wrinkles become a thing of the past with really good applications of coconut oil to a clean face every day for months. It may take a little while but keep with it and the results are miraculous!!
6) All over tanning serum! SPF15 I believe from literature I have read naming 100 uses of this oil!!
7)  Hand cream! Leave to sink in while you twiddle your thumbs!!

Greenpeace Victory

Let's hope that we at Greenpeace do win this victory over plastic anywhere on Earth. The latest news on the radio last night is about recycling plastic to create a new eco friendly material called carbon nano tubes. The people who have inspired this idea wish to use it for the insulation of copper wires in electronics and wiring of all kinds. This wonderful proposition has us finally moving away from everything plastic like the plant one as that too would choke a fish if swallowed. But then again anywhere you find fish you choke on your words and cry home to Mama to see the Koi carp in the outdoor pool that the little goldfish grew up to be!!! I like goldfish but I love Koi carp because they live forever and get really big.
No litter bug will ever be safe from meas I'll seek you out where ever you are and tell you to pack away your things and take them home to the recycling at your place!!! Why you might ask are there yet still a throw away bunch of peeps. Everything in our place, a Zero Waste Home is recycling round and round til is finds that perfect forever kind of a world. I like forever worlds to be safe forever like the forets of this Earth, the Great Mother.
Hello Earthlings how are you today!!!

Will you help save this planet from destruction by the plastic monster!! It's a lego brick dragon that is crying because dragons don't like plastic\!!!!!
I don't like plastic and I am a dragon, yes a rightful dragon. Dragons symbolise spirituality of Earth, the Sun etc. Dragonlines of the World Chakra centre around the Equator

Well done to all Greenpeace supporters especially the good man who stood strong at the World Economic Forum and faced the head man of HSBC over their funding of rainforest destroying palm oil extraction. It was highlighted by Greenpeace that some of the companies HSBC were supporting financially had interests in palm oil extraction from really fertile good sound rainforests where orang-utans play and tribal people live in harmony with the nature of the forest. The sheer destruction of the prestine forest was horrifying and I thought completely outdated with the good symbol of the Rainforest Alliance and the like. How can this go on in this day and age and why are we so reliant on this one simple ingredient palm oil. Perhaps sustainably sourced goods are still to be found but this needs to be across the board like it has become with bananas. If we can achieve such plants as tea, coffee and bananas being sustainably sourced why not palm oil???

I wonder how far this action of Greenpeace to stand strong against such destruction will go when HSBC have promised to back off and ensure their "power for good" as the head man said is used wisely. Perhaps they mean by investing in the communities where palm oil extraction is found to be small local farmers who live and work in harmony with the environment as the other alliances of the Rainforest have done. Not only do these alliances help save the rainforest but also help to create jobs for local people who know the forest well and are able to support themselves and their communities instead of resettlement of tribes, complete devastation of wide tracks of land and increased risk of forest fires, let alone the threat to rare endangered species of animal and plant. You think it's only in the Rainforest that you see all this. If you check out mi blog the "THIRD BATTLE FOR NEWBURY" you would hear stories about the destruction of ancient forests in even this good ole England. This land of ours has dark secrets cue Jerusalem and those satanic mills!!

Back to the point (ish)  I have been watching the Jungle Book lots lately as my daughter is as big a fan of the film as I was young and the sight of forest fires to animals is frightening. The elephants save the day in the new film and is makes you feel really small when you see the harmony of the animal world and how much humans are at each other's throats. Must be vampires!! To see a Greenpeace supporter speak so soundly and strongly at that meeting and face them on turf that makes sense where all people can hear the truth is wonderful. We need a transparent world which is all well and good until you are asked to be transparent!! Could you be??? I am one who knows twenty questions from this man and that woman and it's not easy to justify everything you thought was human nature when we are just so different to each other. WE ARE HUMAN!

So again well done Greenpeace and let's hope we score a strike on this funding from all banks being stopped in their tracks before the rainforest is gone forevermore. Why I ask you in this day and age has it gone on this long. Sting helped the tribal people of the Amazon rainforest speak out long ago and where do we see people really listening if this goes on to this day! Please help support Greenpeace reach out their efforts while they are on top and make other banks follow suit. An advert is to be placed in a top newspaper and they need backing to help make this happen. If you can donate please help Greenpeace www.greenpeace.org.uk

Real Nappies

Real Nappies are the name of the game! I speak from experience that with my first I used all real nappies and found it easy-going and only one little nappy rash moment when we were out walking and my daughter was in her nappy longer than usual. With my second there's a Dad around who likes to be hands on and has insisted on throw away style nappies. I have tried to source eco-friendly versions of this and there are many available! However the RUBBISH!!!! created is immense and as we personally have nowhere to burn these paper nappies the bin is always overflowing! I have tried to stay as safe to my own beliefs as possible by making sure my newest daughter is always in a washable at night and any other time we have a long journey ahead as they are much more hard wearing for travel. The wide choice in washable nappies out there is a wonderful evolution in nappy technology!!! I have personally opted for the pocket style nappy with a fleece liner and this keeps her warm and dry! These nappies are highly absorbent and keep the damp away from the skin! It's all good in nappyland!

The best site I have found for nappy technology is Natural Nursery  and the Baba Boo range are easy and fun to look at! Walking around in her Tarzanna or her Moo Power nap nap is wonderful!!!
Happy Nappyland to you all!

This is the one I described with little hedgehogs!!
Top notch nappy technology!!
Stays dry keeps 'em clean, Wash like a dream!!

Veggie Lovelies...

The World of a veggie woman who likes to cook can be as exciting as any other!
There are many different ways to experiment with veggie cooking and change the old to the new.

A classic recipe of mine is Shepherdess Pie which is like the ole traditional number only you use lentils for the mix of veggie lovelies and if you have some veggie scheesse about you can crumble some on top and sprinkle with sesame seeds for a beautiful topping!

Spaghettie is a good one all you need is a few ideas of your own favourite flavours to reach a happy day's dinner!
Here are a few ideas of my own:
1) Broccilli sauce made from a creamy roux like mixture sauce with blended cooked broccili to make a sauce. A few herbs such as thyme and oregano help.
2) A more tradional Napoli with fresh tomatoes and garlic can be fun!
3) Lentils especially I find the brown work well, with tomato and herbs can help the ole traditional dish to be a good new veggie wonder.
4) Primavera comes from the quick cooking of fresh green veg with garlic and oil.
5) A creamy mushroom sauce is a good one when flavoured with garlic and herbs.

Scheese is a natural food made from melted margarine, marmite (everyone's mate!), mustard and soya flour mixed together in a pan and chilled in the fridge.
Can be used in all kinds of recipes as written above!

My secret recipe for Scheese came from a Magical Cookbook I came across and is as follows:

Equal amounts of melted vege margarine and soya flour
Marmite
Mustard

Melt the marg gently and mix in flavourings to taste. It is at this point in the recipe you can add garlic and herbs or cumin or some other nice spice or herb.
Once mingled nicely add the flour and mix til thick.
Turn out into a dish that you can put in the fridge and chill til hard.
Can be crumbled or sliced into any dish requiring such a flavour!
Happy Scheesing!

It is my personal belief that any dish can be made into a veggie lovelie with a bit of magic!!
Happy Daze!

The Welcome TOo!

Welcome to my ALTERNATIVE World!

With this blog I hope to enlighten you to some of the alternatives out there which help us to lead more fulfilling eco-friendly lifestyles.

In this world of Re-evolution things gotta change round here!
Life needs to care more!
People need to care more!
We need to be good custodians of this beautiful planet of ours!
Mother Earth needs us!
Please listen to your hearts!
Please be mindful!
Let yourself be careful with absolutely everything!
BRAP!

As we walk life's journey we tend to learn a thing or two along the way!
We pick up tips and listen to advice!
We try new things and experiment!
Everything can be recycled, re-used or renewed.
Up-cycling is big business
Re-cycling goes a long way to restoring the Earth's balance.
Re-using and the ole traditional hand-me downs are always good.
Renewing and fixing has taditionally been a man's job unless it's socks which is the traditional woman's role.
However times are a'changing!
Women and Men are coming together as equals and doing roles traditionally set in stone.
I wonder how many woman stone masons there are out there????

Engineering has been a man's game for eons, when I set out on my path as an Woman Engineer at sixteen it was a daunting world! MEN EVERYWHEREEEEE!!!!!
Life changed this past twenty years and the touch woman has had even on that world is helping the Great Mother restore Herself to health.
Environmental Awareness is the name of the game nowadays and I personally believe that this had a lot to do with woman's participation in the whole engineering ball game!
Woman has an inate sense of the Great Mother's needs and it's my belief that woman is essential to the whole!
As we involve woman in roles traditionally filled by men, the Earth has a voice!
To be heard always!!!
Listen carefully when woman speaks, SHE will astound you!
The Great Mother needeth US ALL that be man, woman and child to be good custodians of this planet!
Helpeth the Earth to return to health!
Helpeth thyself to be careful always!

The Earth is abundant in everything we need.
We just need to know how to keep it that way without draining Her of Her natural resources!
Life can be easy when you are careful!

Well I hope you've enjoyed this little intro into my vision of an alternative world where EQUALITY is the magical word.
Blessings!
